Last summer my Phoebe had a few bloody noses, went to the vet, checked her out, they said nothing was wrong. But for about over amonth now, she has had trouble breathing. We took her to the vet, he xrayed, scoped her nose but couldn't find anything. She does have a discharge which has white blood cells in it and it could be cancer but the vet didn't know. So she's been on antibiotics, steriods and it really hasn't changed. Has anyone dealt with something like this before. It scares me because we just lost Ripley and Phoebe got sick about the same time. That just isn't fair. Any ideas/help would be appreciated. Thanks all

Oh geez, does it ever end......maybe it will turn out to be
a minor thing. Life does not seem fair at times for any
of us. I am SENDING PRAYERS AND BIG BIG HUGS.

I have not ever had this happen. The only time I had a problem
is when my wonderful German Shepherd, Mateese, hemorrhaged
from her nose.

Oh Olga, I have nothing helpful except prayers. I hope they can find a cause.

Get her to a vet and if the vet gives you the same stuff.........get her to a different vet. Tel them you want an answer.

Took your advise Arda, Larry is taking her to another vet this morning to get another opinion. She looks good, coat is good, she eats but acts like she has a cold, stuffy nose and drainage down her throat. I hope for the best for my baby Phoebe

Good for you, no matter how many vets, you need
answers. We get other opinions for our own medical issues
and nothing is too good for our kids.

Isacc just came in here a little while ago. Discharge in the nose and doing a little choking/coughing type thing. He just didn't eat like I like them to eat. Ran him in to see Karen. He had a couple really bad teeth that had caused an infection in the sinuses. Karen pulled the teeth and he was eating like a starved bear within a day. Nose is fine. Appetite great. He's like a young dog again. Sometimes it's very simple fix. Maybe that's not her problem but sometimes an easy fix renews our faith. Best to check than to be sorry later.

Larry called me after going to the new vet. That vet started that he thinks he can help her, he put her on new antibiotics and take her off the steriods. He thinks we should see improvement by Sunday. I hope so, and I'll keep you posted.

That's all we can do. Stay positive and love them while they are here. A bunch of praying doesn't hurt either. I wish it was me and not you.

Larry called the vet today and explained that the discharge is less than it was and she seems to be breathing better. The vet said it took a long time to get this sick so it's going to take a bit to get better. He wants a return call on Thursday but we see a difference.
It must be all that positive SCD thinking. Will keep you posted.
