I also love BGSTK0529's avatar. Very cute. I've also seen a picture of them with a ball on the grass - right? They are 2 beautiful dogs!
Cady IS pretty big now. She, however, still thinks she's a puppy. She curls into spots half her size and clumsily spills off most of the furniture. I can relate, though. Sometimes I feel as small as I was 10 years ago, but the hips keep hitting corners and doorways as I try to "squeeze" by and reality sets back in! Ha, ha.
Here's a few more pics of her:
1. Dying to get back inside the house!
2. Stretching those long, lanky legs.

THANK YOU again for all the hard work you do with this organization. I just wanted you to know that you truly are finding "Forever" homes for these beautiful dobes. We were the lucky ones to get HER. <3

cady.jpg 795.21KB 0 downloadsWell it's been almost half a year since our beautiful Cady passed away and I knew I wanted to write and tell this group her story and let you know how grateful we were to have adopted her. Cady lived to be 11 and passed away on January 28th, 2017 with widespread cancer (pancreatic). Before she passed, we bought a house in Grant, Florida and she was able to fully enjoy the 3 acres of our property (with her partner in crime, Cassie) --- seeing horses and tortoises and cranes for the first time ever. I want to thank you all for the work you do for the rescue, for giving this wonderful breed that second chance. Cady was truly the smartest, sweetest dobergirl and brightened our lives every single day of her existence.
A month after she passed, we answered a Craigslist ad regarding a doberman puppy that needed a new home. Apparently, this family was overwhelmed with 2 doberman sibling puppies and two toddlers at home and were offering up the male. We brought him home at 8 weeks old and he has been a wonderful companion to Cassie. Troy is a pure breed male, with a European mother and American father and we just love him to pieces. Thank you for showing us how amazing this breed is. Because of Cady, we will always have a Doberman in our home. <3
I will see if I can post pictures of both Cady and Troy...

I am so sorry to hear that Cady has gone to the Bridge, but what a wonderful, long, and loving life you gave that beautiful girl! Those pictures of her with her silver muzzle are so endearing. Her story is the kind of happy ending all rescued dogs deserve. Your new boy, Troy, is very handsome and sweet, and lucky to have joined your family. Run free at the Bridge, Cady. You will never be forgotten.

I'm so sorry that you lost Cady. Like Cheri, I love the pic of her in her "silver years". I very glad that you were the ones who got the Craigslist pup-those ads always worry me! He's beautiful!

Thank you all for your sympathy. We still miss Cady so much and just thinking about her or talking about her brings tears to my eyes...in a good way, I guess. Cady was so young in personality all of her life that I honestly never saw her as a senior (despite that beautiful silvery muzzle). I know I'm not supposed to have favorites, but darn it, she was my favorite of all the furkids we've ever had.
Troy is a handsome boy, thanks. He's our first male...definitely goofier than any of the girls we've had. We recently adopted another Dobergirl, 5 month old Macy. She's a black/rust girl, a firecracker and just what Troy needed since our poor 13 yr old Cassie wanted nothing to do with playtime! ha ha All 3 are getting along great.

I am so sorry to hear about you loosing Cady. I never is easy. But thank god she had a wonderful family that loved her and cherished her.
I am glad to hear that you got a new puppy what a cutie she is. I love all 3 pics of your fur kids, especially the last pic of Macy on top of Troy pinning him down.
Thanks so much for the updates and keeping in touch with us.

OMG how in the world did I miss this post...uuugghhh I am so sorry.

Thank you for the condolences. I used to say that I wanted to clone Cady...because I wanted to have her for the rest of my life. She was that great of a dobergirl.
And thanks, those two little hurricanes (Troy and Macy) are quite a handful and a lot of work right now (as puppies always are). He is 9 months and 82 lbs and she is 5 months and 35 lbs. My other senior, Cassie - 13 1/2, is just glad she just has to relax and watch all the action now. That is unless a sprinkler is involved..hahaha. I don't know where she gets the energy or strength from but she monopolozies it and just won't let Troy and Macy near it.
They are all a blessing and I know we are lucky to have them just as we were to have Cady.

I know all too well the feeling of wondering if the tears will ever stop after losing a beloved dog, and also the feeling that you wish you could have cloned them. But it does get better with time. We never forget them, but we eventually are able to put those precious memories in a safe place in our hearts and the pain is not quite so acute.
What a beautiful trio of dogs you have now! I love all the pics, but the one of your two youngsters wrestling is hilarious.
