LOL on the Lassie. I never thought of that...I took Keiko on a neighborhood walk a little while ago, just a short one. She saw a squirrel and almost freaked out in a chase, but calmed down when I made her sit. She REALLY freaked out when she saw a guy on a bicycle. She did not like that one tiny bit. I took her back in after that. I have a harness I'm going to put on her for next time. I put it on her a little while ago and she didn't mind it at all. I have more control with the harness and will feel better with it on her in case she gets a little feisty. She walks nicely...doesn't pull or try to get ahead of me. {unless she sees a bicycle} And oddly enough, she was very happy to come back home. She was first to the door and waited there with her nose right on it. She doesn't do that after car rides. Maybe she was afraid of not coming back or something. I love my baby girl....she's my best friend.

Are we sure that Keiko is really 2 years old or is that an estimate? She really acts like a puppy most of the time. Or maybe it's her personality. She has lately decided she wants to be held like she is tiny and weighs 10 pounds. It's funny ...she leaps onto my lap when I'm sitting down or lays her entire body on mine when it's bedtime. This girl gets right into my face and holds my head between her paws like she has hands and kisses away. She plays with ALL of her toys now, and has a "thing" for wash cloths. She carries one around with her most of the time. She is so goofy. She takes the cushions off the couch before she will lay down on it. She for sure walks to the beat of her very own drum.

Age was an estimate.  She is young.  Maybe younger than we think.  I think she loves you.

 <<< that is Keiko 24/7. And I had to work 6 nights in a row so  Harold had lots of time to torment her by hiding under the couch and swatting at her.....and Keiko ate part of the couch skirt. So  she has officially turned into a normal canine. lololol

Yowza..! It's been a while since I posted. My 3rd shift stinks, but now I'm down to a manageable schedule for the foreseeable future. Keiko and I have bonded so closely it's almost scary. She loves all the grandkids and dances at the windows when she hears their car pull up to the house. She's gotten over her fears of tall boys and men. She has a confidence now that makes me so proud of her. The only thing missing is a partner for her. She is very canine friendly and wants to play with other dogs even if they don't like her. When she meets new dogs she will play bow and then sit real pretty and wag her whole body while she's sitting...lol  She listens to me so well...even when she is over excited if I tell her to sit , or calm down, she does so right away. Harold the cat still torments her and teases her all the time. I swear that cat enjoys the chases even though he growls and hisses. He's never scratched her, not even once but he bats her from above all the time and waits for her to walk past him unaware and pounces. Her hair is coming in really nicely and unless you look closely you can hardly see the old bare spots.

Awww..I love my baby girl sooo much. Her favorite spot is on the bed just like the pic and she sleeps with me the same way..lol I need to get a full sized bed so we can both stretch out. Especially when we get a partner for us. It was a tight squeeze when it was me Ghost and Nova..lol Ghost was an extra big girl and liked to stretch ALL the way out when she slept. I know Arda will be able to find the perfect partner for us. I see that after having 2 Dobes at a time having just one isn't exactly a complete family. I miss the double team aspects..running in the yard together, a leash in each hand for walks..2 sitting pretty for treats. And the chorus that used to be my doorbell. { oh and not to forget the double helping of land mines in the yard} :Tounge:

Lori, that is such a wonderful update!  Keiko looks so happy and content in her new home.  Funny, when I scrolled through those pictures, Number 4, with the tire, at first glance, looked to me a bit like a matching-colored halo above her head!  :innocent:

OMG, it does...lolol It's lawn edging I was going to put by a flowerbed.

We dug a fire pit today and used the dirt to fill in the holes Keiko and my Grandson Santiago dug. Santi is teaching Keiko bad habits with the digging, but they have so much fun together I just let them have at it. Keiko is  good natured and just happy go lucky. Arda really knows her stuff and she has a magic wand or something that points the right dog to the right people. I have a super strong connection to Keiko, like we were meant to be family. It's weird and crazy too in a good way.

Oh, yes, now that I look closer, it is lawn edging, not a tire!

On the digging, you know you can put dog poop in the holes.  Might break both of them of the habit.  :D  Or maybe not.  Maybe your grandson would think that was even more fun!  :w00t:

Seriously, it's great to hear they get along so well and love to play together!

Heck yeah..! She does leave her toys intact, she kind of loves on them and keeps them close to her. The poop in the holes is a good idea! We filled up all the old ones, but will do that for any new holes. Santiago will be all grossed out and not dig in poop holes. He thinks the rocks and things he finds while digging are diamonds and jewels. He actually saves them in a bucket...lol. I'm kind of a rockhound myself and have a collection of them, so he's following in my footsteps.
